Rinakama praises Fiji win
November 29, 2009

Naitasiri and former Flying Fijian assistant coach, Joji Rinakama praised Glen Ella’s men for their 29-18 win against Romania this morning.

Rinakama said it was a rewarding to finally end the Northern hemisphere tour with a win.

“I know they wouldn’t have liked it had they come out of the tour without a win,” he said.

“This is the highlight of the tour for them, claiming their first win and I take my hats off to the boys and the management – I say good job.”

Rinakama praised skipper Apolosi Satala for his leadership skills and control of the game.

“I believe this his first leadership role; Apo is always in the background, quiet and dedicated. You could always look to him for support in defence and attack but this time, as skipper I believe he did really well in maintaining order on the field.”

He added praise to the local players, Viliame Veikoso, Vereniki Sauturaga and the Bola brothers, Kelemedi and Samu to name a few.

“They proved their worth on this tour. I am sure that they bring a lot with them out of this experience.”

More reactions to follow.
