Fijians finally break winless jinx on tour November 29, 2009
The Apolosi Satala captained Flying Fijians finally broke its winless jinx in the Northern Hemisphere end of the year tour when it defeated Romania 29-18 in Bucharest this morning (Fiji time).
The Fijians ran in four tries in the match, one in the first half and three in the second after trailing the hosts 11-7 at the breather.
Centre Vereniki Goneva opened the account for the Fijians after he received a well timed pass from winger Timoci Nagusa to dot under the posts.
After a slow game in the first half, the Fijians started to play with some purpose and were able to send in Jimilai Naikadawa, Nagusa and Jonetani Ratu with rookie first five eighth Josh Matavesi converting three conversions and a penalty
