Serevi to announce Fiji 7s team in Lautoka
January 07, 2009

Fiji 7s coach Waisale Serevi will announce his team to the Wellington 7s in New Zealand on Saturday after the main final of the BP Lautoka 7s at Churchill Park.

Serevi will head the Warriors team while Iliesa Tanivula who returned empty handed from the Punta Del Este 7s in Argentina will coach the Fiji Barbarians team.

Serevi’s outfit will contain players who had been camping in Suva this week.

FRU coaching director Ilivasi Tabua said members of the Babaas team will also be vying for a spot in the final Fiji 7s team.

Meanwhile, a total of 13 teams have confirmed their participation for the one-day Lautoka 7s tournament.

FRU administrator Solo Finau said registration closes tomorrow.

Nadi, Suva, Lautoka and Nadroga including Yasawa will field two teams while Ba and Northland will field one.

Ovalau will not be taking part due to financial constraints.

The BP 7s tournament will kick off at Lautoka’s Churchill Park at 7am on Saturday.
