Fiji Bati rep Osea Sadrau is the top bet for the Fiji National Rugby League and Vodafone Rookie of the Year Award at the awards night on January 16.
The 22-year old Nabukadogo rugger from Macuata, Vanua Levu is in the running for the award with fellow Rugby League World Cup rep Ilisoni Vonomatairatu and junior league reps Channel Panapasa, and Atunaisa Turagaiviu.
“It is an honour to be considered for the award,” he said.
Sadrau played as a prop at the RLWC in Australia last year where Fiji surprised the world with their semi final exit.
His best memory was going head to head with Kangaroo rep and fellow Fijian Petero Civoniceva.
FNRL administrator Rusiate Ratakele said Sadrau’s outstanding performance at the World Cup put him at the top of the list for the award.
Sadrau played for the Fassifern Bombers in Australia before the RLWC and the Saru Dragons in the Vodafone Club competition last season.
The FNRL Awards will be held at the Tattersalls Leisure Centre on January 16.
