Fiji rugby 15s enterprising fullback Norman Ligairi is among veteran Fijians plying their trade abroad, but he is still a game winner after helping his Brive Rugby Club notch their second win in two weeks in the France Top 14 competition. The Nawaka, Nadi rugger contributed a try in Brive’s 53-11 win over Mont de Marsan this morning (Fiji time).
Brive doubled their winning tally for the season after last week's success against Dax. Seven tries and a bonus point will do the black-and-whites' moral the world of good after a shocking start to the season.
It was one way traffic in the first half as English wing Ben Cohen, Welsh full-back Barry Davies, Fijian full-back Norman Ligairi and scrum-half Fabrice Estebanez scored tries for the home side. Nadroga’s Napolioni Nalaga, France’s 2007 Top Try Scorer of the Year, continued in fine form with also a touch down for his club Clemont which beat Bourgoin 30-23.
Clermont finally got a win away from home in a see-saw battle with their trademark attacking flair as wings Julian Malzieu and Napolioni Nalaga scored a try each.
