Fiji rugby’s scoring machine Rupeni Caucaunibuca will travel to England before the end of the week for talks on a possible contract with Seru Rabeni’s Leicester Tigers Club.
The Bua flyer will miss this weekend’s Digicel Cup clash against Ovalau at Nasau Park in Levuka as he tries to secure a new international rugby contract since his premature ending to his France contract last year.
Caucau, France Top 14 try scorer in 2007 has been scoring in all his outings in Fiji since returning from injury.
Tailevu coach Inoke Male, who helped reshaped Caucau’s return to top form after his three month in the wilderness, said Caucau could land himself a good contract.
“He is undergoing visa preparations and should fly out before the end of the month. He is in top form,” the former Fiji captain said.
Tailevu will miss Caucau and Peni Tora who has also secured an overseas contract.
“We have prepared a very good team against Ovalau despite the absence of our two key players. We have to beat Ovalau in order to cement our spot for the semifinals,” Male added.
A Tailevu win will award them a semifinal match at home.
