Robust Fiji centre Maleli Kunavore, who plies his trade for French Top 14 champions Toulouse has started a new chapter in his life after exchanging vows with fiancé Semaema Bulou at Nakalavo Village in Nadroga today.
Tying the knot with his long time girl friend is not the end of Kunavore’s rugby career, he wants to take another step further and play for the Pacific Islands Rugby Alliance team’s tour to Europe later this year.
“I have so many things in mind but firstly I want to continue my rugby career,” the 24-year-old said after his wedding.
“I’m interested to play for the Pacific Islanders team but I haven’t been contacted. If I’m considered I’ll return to France to request for a release from my club.”
Kunavore is banking on his experience and international exposure to gain him selection to PIRA’s 30-member squad.
He met his wife Bulou, an auditor from Yasawa-i-rara, while they both attended Natabua High School in Lautoka.
Their wedding took place in Kunavore’s Bolatagane home.
