Nine spots confirmed for 7s last leg
May 13, 2008

Nine spots have already been confirmed for the 12-member Digicel Fiji sevens team to the last leg of the IRB Series in London and Edinburgh.

Reliable sources have said team coach Josateki Savou and his list of selectors, Ilivasi Tabua and Jope Tuikabe will maintain the core team to the last leg in Hong Kong and Adelaide.

Marika Vunibaka, Setefano Cakau, Viliame Maya, Naisa Narukutabua, Emosi Vucago, Tomasi Mawi, overseas-based Nasoni Roko and new find, Timoci Matanavou already have their spots confirmed.

Iliavi Satala is highly likely to make the trip, filling in for Lepani Nabuliwaqa who cited family commitments and dropped out of the team.

However, Satala’s visa problem may be the only thing that will affect his spot in the team.

Three spots remain vacant with possible fillers being all forwards - Sailosi Rabonaqica from Sharks, Timoci Vakadranu and Apenisa Ratuyadra.

Savou is expected to name his team tomorrow after Roko jetted into the country today.

The captaincy role is likely to go back to Vunibaka, who will be assisted by Cakau.
