Barbarians handed 20-0 defeat by Gold May 09, 2008
The Air Pacific Fiji Barbarians’ hopes of making the Pacific Rugby Cup final went up in smoke when they were thrashed 20-0 by the Tau’tahi Gold in Nukualofa this afternoon.
The Etuate Waqa coached side trailed the hosts 15-0 at halftime and still couldn’t get their game together as the Gold sent them packing home with another try in the second spell.
The side has so far recorded only one win in their PRC campaign.
Their first win came in against the Tau’uta Reds last week at Lawaqa Park.
They face the Fiji Warriors in their last game next week.
The Warriors versus the Tau’uta Reds match is set to kick off in the next hour at Lautoka’s Churchill Park.
