Kalou on rehab as Wise awaits review
February 23, 2012

By Kalesi Mele

Niggling injuries have forced the Fiji 7s team management to keep towering forward Sekonaia Kalou and Waisea Nayacalevu (Wise) wrapped in cotton wool.

The two players did not undergo a fitness test that was planned today for the extended squad in Suva as preparations for the Asian leg of the HSBC 7s Series kick-starts.

Nayacalevu is carrying a lower back injury and will undergo a medical assessment tomorrow to determine when he can return to contact training whilst Kalou has been sidelined for two weeks.

When asked on his aspiration for the Asian leg of the series, Kalou said his first priority was to recover well.

“Right now, all I am worried about is getting my knee better,” Kalou said.
