Dunadamu goal saves Navua
September 05, 2010

By Reginald Chandar

Striker Maciu Dundamu was the toast of the Navua football side as he scored the lone goal against Nadi in the National Football League at the tfl National Stadium in Suva.

The crafty player managed to walk past the solid Nadi defence in the 44th minute to slot in the goal which handed the southerners another victory in the competition.

The match, a repeat of the 2010 INKK Mobile Battle Of the Giants semifinal did not provide much spark as both teams opted to play defensive football and only launch their attack through counter attacks.

The Jetsetters featured without the likes of Viliame Toma, Lekima Gonerau and Sagar Kumar while Uraia Loki, Ratu Josefata Dugucagi and impressive Fiji U20 ultility Joshua Tawake were benched.

Navua on the other hand fielded its full strength team which had the experience of Pene Erenio, Taniela Waqa, Siga Ali, Usaia Tadu, Joseph Mishra, Sedrick Dutt and Captain Seveci Rokotakala. A notable exclusion from the team though was star defender Lorima Dau.

Kit Kat/Southern Forest Navua remains on third spot in the Fiji Sun/Weet Bix National Football League points table with 38 points

The teams:
Navua- Benaminio Mateinaqara, Taniela Waqa, Pene Erenio, Siga Ali, Simione Maikali, Seveci Rokotakala, Sedrick Dutt, Joseph Mishra, Maciu Dunadamu, Usaia Tadu, Jesoni Takala.

Nadi- Vereti Dickson, Iliki Ravosai, Semi Rokoqica, Ili Gaunavou Junior, Roneel Chetty, Kevin Singh, Epeli Deyama, Mohammed Salmeen, Isoa Ratuva, Sireli Guivaiu, Ilimotama Jese.
