Trying to win against a team that has tasted more victory then them is the biggest challenge for the Northland rugby team as they prepare to take on Nadroga in the second round challenge of the Farebrother Cup.
Nadroga, the defending champions of the coveted silverware had successfully overcome the first challengers last week. Ovalau lost a humiliating 41-7.
“It is not easy meeting a much experienced and talented team that is laced with more national reps then us,” Watisoni Ratulevu, Northland coach said.
“Nadroga is a strong team, one of the rugby giants in the country and trying to find a way to beat then has not been an easy task.”
Ratulevu is relying on his boys to play with the one thing that could carry them far in what will be a physical encounter – heart.
“What we lack in national reps and experience, we make up with a lot of heart. These boys are proud of their team, they appreciate and know the sacrifice we’ve made to get here. I know they will not disappoint me.”
Ratulevu will rely on national players Sireli Ledua, Andrew Durutalo, David Batiratu and Aisake Katonibau to bolster experience in his young side.
The match kicks off at 4pm tomorrow at Lawaqa Park.
