Tani to scout for talent in the mountains August 31, 2010
By Maciu Bolaitamana National sevens coaching director Iliesa Taivula will take a development side to take part at the Namatakula 7s at Vatureba Park in the upper reaches of the Navosa highlands tomorrow.
Tanivula is also going with the hope of scouting for new players as the 2010/2011 IRB Sevens World Series draws near.
He said he would be on the look-out for new talent.
"I'm keen to get to and participate in as many of the local sevens tournaments as possible to search for new talent," Tanivula told the fijirugby.com
"While I'll be coming along with an FRU team, I'll also be watching and looking out for promising players in all the participating teams and I hope to rope in new talent into the Digicel Fiji 7s squad."
The two-day Asco Motors sponsored Namatakula sevens tournament kicks off tomorrow and ends on Thursday.
The winner of the tournament will walk away $3,000 richer.
