Broncos eyes league title again
August 29, 2010

By Torika Tokalau
Nabua Broncos have found themselves through to the top four again after they defeated Makoi Bulldogs in the first semi finals today at the Suva Grammar School grounds.

Broncos have made it to the grand finale two years in a row against defending champions Nadera Panthers but always fell short.

This time around, the Poasa Qiri coached side is grabbing another chance they have to write their name in the history books.

Broncos defeated Makoi Bulldogs 32-19 in a hard hitting game that left several of their players injured.

However, Qiri is confident the injury scare will not hold them back from making the grand finale.

“We are so desperate to play in the final again and this time to win,” he said.

“There are a couple of injuries but nothing to worry too much about. These boys have a lot of heart and knowing them the way I do, they will go all out at training and in next weekends semi final.”

It is not clear who they will meet in the semi finals with Fiji National Rugby League Officials to confirm the fixtures after looking at the competition points table tomorrow.

Meanwhile Namatakula Saints too find themselves in to the semifinals after defeating Police Sharks 34-14.
