By Reginald Chandar Host nation, Fiji is all ready to battle Tahiti in its opening match of the 2010 Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Futsal Championship this Sunday.
The Hussain Sahib coached side knows they need to make a prefect start and team manager Krishneil Sharma says the onus is on the players to give their best.
“We are ready for the 2010 OFC Futsal Championship. The team has wrapped up their preparations and is out for a strong start. It is very important to win our first game as this will set the pace for the remainder of the tournament”, he told Fiji FA Media.
“The boys are beaming with confidence and hopefully we have a good outing. Tahiti will be tough but the team management has mapped out a strategy to counter them. I can assure the fans that the boys will play their hearts out,” Sharma said.
Sharma is calling on the fans to back them in their campaign.
“We urge all the fans to support us and back us to go out there and make the country proud,” Sharma said.
Captain Kamal Hassan is expected to make the starting five with Josaia Ratu, Petero Dauniseka, Roy Krishna and Siga Ali.
Fiji faces Tahiti in the last match of day one at 8pm.
