Fiji's Futsal side preparing for the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Futsal Championship in Suva next month registered an impressive 13-9 victory over a Navua Selection team yesterday.
The friendly encounter enabled the Hussein Sahib coached side to work on their combinations.
The match which was played for an hour and 40 minutes was broken down in four quarters of 25 minutes each.
The Navua selection side was coached by Gurjit Singh and had the likes of Lorima Dau, Jesoni Takala, Benaminio Mateinaqara, Usaia Tadu, Dinesh Mudaliar, Joseph Mishra, Maciu Dunadamu and Seveci Rokotakala.
Fiji Football Association Futsal Commission secretary Jainendra Sukhu said the friendly match was of a good build up for the National squad.
“The Navua side provided a good build up for the boys. The National squad has been training for a while and it was good to see them put their knowledge to the test,” Sukhu told Fiji FA Media.
The OFC futsal Championship will be held from 8-14 August at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
