Experts boost NSS U19 Deans campaign July 28, 2010
By Torika Tokalau Fiji Rugby Union development officers, Belesio Vukiwai and Etuate Waqa could have been the timely boost the Nasinu Secondary School Under-19 team needed as they prepare for the Deans Cup quarterfinals this weekend.
The forwards and backline expert was at hand this afternoon to take the U19 through drills that NSS forwards coach Taniela Vakamoce says will benefit them as they countdown for their anticipated match.
“They come in with a lot of knowledge to offer us,” Vakamoce said.
“The forwards learnt a great deal from Bele especially in our rucks and maul areas and lineout while the backline focused more on their passing with Eddie.”
Vukiwai praised the Nasinu forwards saying he had only to teach them very few things because they already had their forward play on track.
“I believe Nasinu will do well in the forwards for the quarters. If anything I believe this is where their strength lies,” Vukiwai said.
NSS meets Sila Central on Saturday for the quarters at the TFL Stadium.
In other quarterfinal fixtures, Ratu Kadavulevu School will play John Wesley College, Suva Grammar School will play Ratu Navula and Lelean Memorial School will meet Lomawai Secondary.
The quarterfinal kicks off from 8am with the U14 games at the TFL Stadium.
