Western U19 sides pose threat in Deans July 28, 2010
By Torika Tokalau Western schools Ratu Navula and Lomawai Secondary will be out to play for pride when the Under 19 grade Deans Cup quarterfinals gets underway at the TFL Stadium this weekend.
The two schools are the lone representatives from the western zone and both have high hopes of making the cut for the final four.
Fiji Secondary School Rugby Union president, Paula Motu said the western schools could very well surprise everyone and the bigger giants, Suva Grammar and Lelean Memorial School.
“Everyone’s looking forward to the quarters and eyes are all on Ratu Kadavulevu, Lelean and Suva Grammar but it’s the other schools that people don’t consider that come out and surprise everyone,” Motu said.
Ratu Navula is scheduled to play SGS while Lomawai has the toughest game against defending champions, LMS.
“It’s going to be a good game, I for one am not sure which way the games going to go because I heard the two western schools are a force to reckon with.”
In other quarterfinal fixtures, RKS will play debutants John Wesley College while Nasinu Secondary School will meet Sila Central School.
The quarterfinals get underway at the TFL Stadium from 8am on Saturday.
