Nadi plans to end campaign on a high July 28, 2010
By Torika Tokalau Former Digicel Cup champions Nadi may not have had the season they wanted but the Jetsetters are planning to end their campaign on a high note when they face Lautoka this afternoon.
Nadi is out of the race for a semi-final berth in the Digicel Cup but this has not deterred their spirits as they look forward to the Farebrother Sullivan trophy next month.
“We have accepted our fate in the Digicel Cup, it is disappointing that we won’t make the semis but that’s that,” Nadi coach. Watisoni Naqei said.
Against Lautoka, Nadi knows it won’t be easy as the results this weekend will determine the Digicel Cup semis fixtures.
“We plan on giving Lautoka a game they will remember. Nadi is planning a strong game and our team not qualifying won’t mean we will take it easy on Lautoka,” Naqei said.
“We have one more game where we can redeem ourselves and end our campaign on a high note as we look forward to the Farebrother.”
Nadi is the final challenger for the Farebrother Cup on October 2 and the side plan on using their time advantage to prepare the best they can for the coveted silverware.
“It’s not the end of the road for us, we may have dropped in our reputation as one of the top teams in the country but we have the Farebrother Cup to raise our status again.”
