Fiji 7s coach Iliesa Tanivula has been offered a coaching job by his former New Zealand Provincial Club, Auckland, a reliable source has revealed.
Tanivula who is preparing for the kick off of the next season in the 2010/11 IRB World 7s Series in November is said to have held talks with the NPC club during his recent trip to New Zealand.
The source revealed Tanivula had turned down the offer because of his ties to the Fiji Rugby Union but has not totally dismissed the idea.
“He always wanted to go back to coaching fifteens and this was a big opportunity for him,” the source said.
It is believed Auckland will keep their doors open for Tanivula in the future.
Tanivula is currently mapping out his preparation plans for the Fiji 7s squad as the date the Dubai and George 7s in November looms.
