School teacher leads Fiji FA Delegation March 15, 2010
Queen Victoria School teacher Meli Tuifagalele will lead the nine member Fiji Football Association delegation to the 2010 Pacific Youth and Sports Conference in Auckland, New Zealand.
The first ever Pacific Youth and Sports Conference is organized by the Oceania Football Confederation and will be held from March 15-20.
Speaking to Fiji FA Media during the delegation's departure at Nadi Airport Tuifagalele said he was honoured to lead the group.
He hopes that football will assist him to get further professional development opportunities.
“It is really an honor for me to be leading the Fiji FA delegation. It is a huge task as I need to see that everything is in order and everybody comes back with a lot of knowledge,” he said.
“Football has brought me this far and I hope that it will take me further in the years to come with more opportunities,” he said.
The 25 year old came in the lime light with his involvement as the manager of the QVS U-16 and U-19 football side. Under his guidance QVS produced the likes of Viliame Ratukadreu , Kaminieli Rokorairuku and Kelemeni Sekura who represented Tailevu North in the premier league and are now in the Fiji National U-20 squad.
Meanwhile other members in the Fiji FA delegatation includes Radilaite Marama (Suva), Kunal Swarup (Tailevu Naitasiri), Noel Nathan (Labasa), Maciu Tuilau( Suva), Kurukaba Ligavou (Navua), Kimberly Rounds (Nadroga), Yasreen Begum (Nadi) and Krishneil Sharma (Navua).
Fiji FA Technical Director Saiyad Ali says this opportunity was a perfect tool for development.
“This is an opportunity for them to get professional development. This is where we can traing young people in adminstrtaion, management. This is an area where Fiji Football needs a lot of improvements,” Ali said.
“The group consists of very capable young people. Kurukaba is youngest of the lot. She is 16 and in our four years development programme. At the same time she has been selected in the national women’s squad.
“Krishneel has been recommended by me to be the next National Futsal team manager. He has managed the Navua team from 2006 at a very young age with his team winning man tournaments,” Ali said
Saiyad, your soccer knowledge is limited ... winning tournaments with help of cream players from neighbouring countries and imports of other districts is foolish to say that one is a good manager. There are so many like sharma in the country. You will only know if you come out of that shell and look around. It's easy for you to pick sharma because he happens to come from your home town and most important being the son of anil sharma vice president of FFA so that you can survive at that level. You are a surprise package anyway. You got to develop your own players and be consistent in your achievements and with borrowed skills. you are farout, FFA JAI HO.

Saiyad ali didn't do well at district level but look now he is development coach of fiji. fiji football is a big joke, now people can see anil sharma's son picked for trip to nz. When is this going to stop? There are lots of people who are 100% better than krishneel sharma.

Saiyad I just like to know if you have any developed players playing in district team or national. I think most of these boys n girls are hard work of the former development coach Farouk Janeman. He was fired because he was not a yes man to the Sahu Khan. Under you Fiji is not going anywhere because your record speaks for itself.
