Tabakaucoro leads team to Oceania meet
March 11, 2010

Fiji secondary schools sprints champion Banuve Tabakaucoro will lead an eight-member team to take part in the Oceania Under-19 championship in Australia this weekend.

The team is made up of athletes that will be competing at this year’s Coke Games, including Nadarivatu gold medalist Sereima Liko.

“This is our development program to expose this kids to top level competition,” Bola Tafou, team manager said.

“They are getting confident on the tracks and its events like this that boost them and motivate them to keep on improving their times.”

The team which left for Australia today will use the Oceania U18 to qualify for the Youth Olympics in Beijing later this year.
