Hekari Souths Coach Tommy Mana who was part of the victorious Fiji FACT Navua side last season is eager to return and help the district again this year.
Mana assisted Navua coach Gurjit Singh at the tournament and was influential in bringing over Solomon Islanders in James Naka and Joe Luwi in the Southerners camp.
Speaking to Fijilive after Hekari’s win over Lautoka's win on Sunday, Mana said he was well versed with Fiji soccer and wanted to return soon and help the players here.
“I am no stranger to Fiji as I was the assistant coach of Navua last year and if all goes well then I will return to assist them again this year.”
“I have been told that they are not doing that well this season and would love to help them get back to winning ways.”
“They (Navua) have a very good and dedicated set of players with a good leader like Anil Sharma and if I am available then I will surely come over to be part of them.”
‘Currently, my focus is on taking the Hekari team to the final of the O League and I am very positive about our chances.”
“Hekari has some of the finest talents of the pacific and we should be able to do well in the final against any New Zealand team if we qualify because we have the top mix of PNG, Solomon Islands and Fijian players in the squad” he added.
Mana took over the Hekari coaching reigns from fellow Solomon Islander Jerry Allan late last season and is looking to create history with the team.
Anil Sharma should replace Singh with Hekari Souths coach Tommy Mana. Singh can only coach a team with all star players and that can be done by any coach. So far the results of Navua team speak volumes about his coaching.
