Fijian utility superboot Pita Bolaitoga is enjoying his stint with Hekari Souths United and wants to see his Papua New Guinea club feature in the Oceania League final.
The 26 year old Macuata lad who has won titles with Labasa, Navua and Ba says his club has the best mix of players to win the competition.
“I am glad to be part of this team as Hekari is a professional club which looks after its players very well.”
“I don’t feel that I am away from home when I am there in PNG as the team management and players are like one big family and very caring.”
“I want to thank the almighty for his blessings in my life which has enabled me to move up a notch in my football career and play in an overseas club.”
“We have the players that can win the O League and we are very confident about our chances after beating Lautoka whom we considered as the toughest opponents.”
When asked how he felt playing against his fellow country men, he smilingly said he treated the Lautoka players just like any opponent and vowed to give his best prior to the match.
“I have played with Osea Vakatalesau, Alvin Avinesh and other players and know their style of football very well so I decided to be in the defence and control play from there.”
“In football, you have to give your 100% to the team that you represent and I am glad I was able to contain the Lautoka attack and help my team record a win which has boosted our chances of playing the final” he added.
Bolaitoga featured at sweeper for the PNG champs while Ba striker Tuimasi Manuca paired up with Solomon International Henry Faarado upfront.
Upon completing his stint with Hekari, Bolaitoga will return to Fiji to ply his trade with his hometown district of Labasa.
I hope he will give his 100% to Labasa when he returns. He is a very good player and if he is honest about his game he will excel to a very high level. Pita has everything a soccer player neds but I think he lacks discipline. No matter which you play be honest to the game of soccer, always try to give your best and this is the key to achieve greatness.
