Chillia ruled out of Tafea clash November 27, 2009
Seimata Chillia will not be able to feature in the O League fixture between Lautoka and Tafea FC this Sunday after failing to obtain his ITC.
The 26 year old Ni Vanuatu midfield general was eyed to orchestra the Shop and Save Blues engine room in the side’s third group match and their first ever international home fixture.
Lautoka soccer president Shalendra Prasad confirmed Chillia’s unavailability and said they had other capable players in the team and have not been affected by the decision.
“Yes, Seimata Chillia will not be part of the Shop and Save Lautoka team this Sunday as Vanuatu football officials have not agreed to grant his international transfer certificate despite our numerous requests.”
“We even sorted Fiji Football Association’s assistance but things did not work in our favor although the player is eagerly interested and was looking forward to joining the team for this weekend’s clash.”
“The other overseas players will be jetting into the country tomorrow and will have a run with the team on Saturday and are set to feature against Tafea on Sunday.”
“Team doctors are also expected to give the final reports of the injured and sick players to allow the team management to decide on the final team for the match.”
“This is our first international fixture and we will be out to register a win at home and make both the district of Lautoka and people of Fiji proud.”
“We will not Tafea lightly as they are also unbeaten in the group but are confident of handing them their first defeat this weekend” Prasad added.
The much anticipated match kicks off at 3pm at Churchill Park. Lautoka leads Group B with 6 points while Tafea FC has 4 points.
