Ella switches to local Flying Fijians November 20, 2009
Flying Fijian coach Glenn Ella has made a major reshuffle to his starting line up to face Ireland on Sunday after two players left camp for club and family commitments.
The departure of Clermont wing, Napolioni Nalaga and prop Deacon Manu has forced Ella to look to the locally-based reps to fill in their shoes.
Ella has made four changes in the forward pack, bringing in France-based Aisake Tarogi in the front row. Viliame Veikoso and Alefoso Yalayalatabua are rested this week but have been replaced by Sireli Ledua and Viliame Seuseu while Apolosi Satala pairs up with Akapusi Qera at flanker.
“We have to expect this in camp, injuries and players departing is something we coaches do not want to be faced with but its also something we cannot control,” Ella said.
Only two changes are made in the backline with Nasoni Roko coming in to replace Nalaga.
English-based Josh Matavesi has been replaced by Norman Ligairi.
“The local boys are doing great, I know I can rely on them to fill the shoes of injured players,” Ella said.
