Talei out of action for four months November 18, 2009
Flying Fijian number eight Netani Talei has been ruled out for four months following a surgery to his shoulder this week.
The former Marist Brothers High School student has suffered from a series of injuries this season; his last one was a knee and shoulder injury earlier this month.
The Worcester Warriors, where Talei plies his trade is reported to be disappointed with absence from the field as he has been an outstanding player in the clubs season.
“There was some damage to the joint that needed to be repaired and stabilised and I’m told that the operation went well,” Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock told worcesternews.co.uk
“He could be out for three to four months,” said. “That is a significant blow to him personally and to the team.
Talei’s knee had ruled him out for at least a month but the fresh shoulder injury from the Scotland match has added another three months to his recovery.
Talei was supposed to have been included in the Flying Fijians campaign in their Northern hemisphere tout but was ruled out and replaced by Apolosi Satala.
