Organisers vow to pay All Stars well November 08, 2009
Players that will be fielded in the Vodafone Mirchi All Stars team will be given allowances to cover for the time they spend with the team, the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation Limited confirmed.
FBCL chief executive officer, Riyaz Sayed Khaiyum said all players that will be voted into the All Stars team will be given daily allowances and footed for their absence from work.
“It’s in the contract we have agreed upon with the Fiji Football Association,” he said.
FBCL in conjunction with the Fiji Football Association have organised the first All Stars versus the Navua team match to be held on December 13 at Churchill Park.
“I can say that their daily allowance is a hefty amount, higher than what they would normally get if they were camping in their respective teams.”
FFA president Dr Sahu Khan said this was a good move by FBCL and getting players available for the team will not be a problem.
“Those that have jobs will go through the normal procedure of applying for leave from work just like they would have they been camping for any team.”
The prize money for the game is $3000. All votes can be made to FBCL’s six stations, closing on November 20 at 12am. The votes will be tallied by the FFA and FBCL before the All Stars team is announced. They then head into a two week camp at the Ba Football Academy.
