Samoa opts out of Fiji Primary Games
November 08, 2009

Fiji Primary Schools Athletics coordinator Patrick Bower has confirmed that Samoa Primary School athletics team has pulled out of the FMF Chow Games due to personal reasons.

Bower said that their preparation to the annual meet has been distracted by the recent Tsunami and its effect and he added that they have confirmed their participation for the meet next year.

“We’ve excused them since we gave them a late notice to join the competition,” Bower said.

“We have given them enough time to prepare since they’ve been badly affected by the recent Tsunami I hope that next year they would be better prepared to give our athletes a good competition.”

Meanwhile, Tonga did not turned down the invitation to be part of the meet and they will be in Fiji in two weeks time.

The FMF Chow Games Athletics Championship will be held on November 20-21 at the TFL National Stadium.
