Blues ready for Hekari challenge
November 07, 2009

Fijian giants, the Shop and Save Lautoka Blues are all set to battle against Hekari Souths United this afternoon in Port Moresby.

The Group B leaders who jetted out of the country with a lot of optimism and confidence have been boosted with the inclusion of their overseas players in the likes of Australia based goalie James Chronopolous and midfielder Nahuel Arrarte alongside star striker Salesh Kumar from New Zealand.

The arrival of solid defender Samuela Vula and utility Leone Vurukania via a direct flight from Fiji yesterday has also given Coach Imdad Ali a sigh of relief prior to the match.

Ali who is no stranger to Port Moresby having traveled with the national age groups believes his team has what it takes to win and is confident of a win.

According to him, the hosts will be a tough nut to crack in front of their home fans and with the inclusion of the three Fijian players.

Of the three Fijians, Ali sees Tuimasi Manuca, a player who has come through the development ranks under his guidance as a real threat but also rates Pita Bolaitoga and Lorima Dau highly.

However, he remains positive of a good outing and a three points out of the clash which will push the Blues lead further on the table.

Hekari on the other hand under Solomon Islands coach Jerry Allen will be no pushover as the host team will be out to earn a win to add to its one point which it earned after a tough 3-3 draw against Tafea FC of Vanuatu in its opening match.

Cyril Muta, Michael Foster, David Muta, Kema Jack and Solomon Islanders; Benjamin Mela and Joachim Waroi will be some of the key players for United this afternoon.
