Do or die in premier playoff
November 07, 2009

The final round of playoff in the premier division National League this afternoon will be very exciting as all the four hopefuls will need a win at any cost to remain in contention for the title and the chance to feature in the Promotion Relegation series.

The first leg of the final in both the northern and Viti Levu zone ended in draws giving the four districts; Tailevu Naitasiri, Vatukaula, Dreketi and Savusavu an equal chance of meeting in the grand final in a fortnight’s time.

While IDC champs Dreketi and western giants Vatukaula have a slight disadvantage playing away from home, defending champion Tailevu Naitasiri and an impressive Savusavu outfit will be under immense pressure to perform in front of their home crowd.

Tailevu Naitasiri and Dreketi who have been the most consistent teams in the premier division this season are hotly tipped to win and meet again in the grand final this year but it will be interesting to note what sort of techniques and strategies the Vatukaula and Savusavu teams employ to counter their much experienced opponents.

The Tailevu Naitasiri vs Vatukaula match will be played at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori while the Savusavu vs Dreketi match will take place at Ganilau Park in Savusavu. Both matches kick off at 3pm.
