Lautoka looks to extend Digicel Cup lead July 04, 2009
Lautoka has a chance to extend their lead in the Digicel Cup when they kick off round eight tomorrow against Tavua at Garvey Park.
The Blues are at top spot with 31 points, seven points clear from second spot Nadroga who have 24 points.
The Vereti Verebula-coached side has had an undefeated run this season and is the favorite to bag the tournament.
“The game’s wide open right now – Lautoka remain the favorites because they have been undefeated but the four top spots are at risk too and we can see a reshuffle for the top five after tomorrow’s games,” Fiji 7s coach Iliesa Tanivula said.
Nadroga will face off with defending Digicel Cup champion Nadi at Prince Charles Park but look shaky in their second spot. Northland, at third place with 23 points, face Namosi at Gatward Park while Eastern Division teams Naitasiri and Suva face each other at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
Rewa will play Tailevu at Burebasaga grounds and the Ovalau versus Navosa game will be played at Nasau Park in Levuka.
