FUTSAL referees attend OFC course
July 04, 2009

Seventeen participants from eight Oceania countries will attend a five day Oceania Football Confederation Referees Instructors course in Suva.

The football referees from Fiji, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Tahiti, American Samoa and Cook Islands are attending the course to polish and broaden their knowledge in officiating indoor football, gaining a lot of popularity over the globe in recent times.

The course is been coordinated by top FIFA instructors Masimmo Ravino and Niel Poloso who also conducted a similar workshop for beach soccer for Fiji participants last week.

The course started yesterday at the Vodafone Arena and will end on Tuesday afternoon after which the various participants will also receive certifications.

The two instructors and the panel of referees will also be part of the OFC FUTSAL Championship which kicks off at the Arena on Monday evening and will end on Saturday.

The round robin competition will feature Fiji, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and Vanuatu.
