Only two NSL clashes this weekend
July 02, 2009

Only two matches will be played in round two of the National Soccer League this weekend.

Defending champions and league leaders Ba will play Nasinu in the first fixture of the weekend on Saturday evening at the TFL National Stadium in Suva while Fiji FACT champions Navua will travel to Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori to play Rewa on Sunday afternoon.

According to National League Board secretary, Hari Raj Naicker only two matches could eventuate out of the five scheduled as districts with players in the Fiji FUTSAL team requested not feature in the weekend without their regulars.

Both matches are expected to be exciting and full of entertainment as all four teams have shown great form in the recent Fiji FACT and in last weekend’s round of matches.

Nasinu which shocked Ba and held them 1-1 in the Fiji FACT will be out to cause another upset in its fixture on Saturday and the southerners’ fine form against Tavua will be a boost for them going into the big clash against the titans of Fiji soccer.

Rewa on the other hand will be out to better its Fiji FACT record and will gun for an upset win over Navua to improve its standing on the points table and prove critics wrong.

The Ba-Nasinu match kicks off at 7pm on Saturday and the Rewa-Navua fixture will be played at 3pm on Sunday.
