Time is high for Serevi, Fiji 7s
December 05, 2008

Fiji 7s coach Waisale Serevi worked late last night putting all game plans in order for the start of the South Africa 7s in George tonight.

Fiji starts the tournament against Scotland at 9.37pm in what he expects as a rise from the dead for the world 7s champions.

Serevi, after the loss in Dubai had closed door meetings with his players last night, driving the needed mental psyche-up to motivate his players to the battle at hand.

“Team morale is high and the players are ready,” he said.

“We want to win, so I met them individually in my room to know what is in their mind before we go onto the field,” he added.

“We stressed on the importance of playing discipline rugby to stay away from unnecessary penalties. We have left Dubai behind and we know the responsibility upon us and the expectation from the nation. Please support us through prayers.”

He said defence would be Fiji’s key against Scotland.

“As always the first game would be the toughest so that’s our focus now.”

Fiji last won the George 7s in 2005 when the maestro was coach and player.
