Nadroga focused on remaining in SP December 02, 2008
Bottom of the table placed Super Premier district, Nadroga is confident of beating Tailevu/Naitasiri and remaining in the top rung of the Fiji Football competition.
The two sides clash in the first leg of the Promotion Relegation series in Sigatoka this weekend.
Nadroga coach Joseph Nand said his team has been preparing well for the two matches and will give its best to retain its status in the super premier.
“We have been in this scenario for some years now and are once again confident of retaining our status, said Nand.
“There is a wide gap between super premier and premier districts and this will act in our advantage against Tailevu Naitasiri.
“However, we will not be taking them lightly as they have been very consistent in their division and will be aiming to upset us to make the super premier.
“The training started in full force yesterday with all senior and youth players attending in full numbers and showing urgency which is a positive sign for us.
“I am calling on all Nadroga supporters to come forward and support the boys in training and also on the match day to raise the confidence and morale of the players”
Nadroga will miss the services of its Fiji U20 reps Archie Watkins, Sumeet Krishan and Tevita Khan who are in camp currently preparing for OFC playoffs.
Experienced players in the form of Francis Bali, Pauliasi Gavidi, Nilesh Nadan, Jone Ralulu, Mohammed Zaim and Ranjeet Singh will carry the hopes of the Stallions.
The first leg will kick off this Saturday evening at Lawaqa Park while the second leg will be played next weekend at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
