Do or die for premier giants
November 21, 2008

Big guns in the premier division, Tailevu Naitasiri and Dreketi are in a do or die situation as a win to either will earn the Premier league title and a chance to battle with bottom placed super premier district, Nadroga in the promotion relegation series.

The first round of the home and away final playoff in Dreketi last Saturday ended in a 1-1 draw giving both teams an equal chance of claiming the top stakes in the NEWWORLD National League for the premier division tomorrow.

Tailevu Naitasiri president Sandeep Roy is confident of his team’s chances and will be banking on southern support to outclass the northerners.

“We will play in the southern division and are ready to beat Dreketi this time around, he said.

“Last week, we were leading and should have returned home victors but the injury time goal cost us and will ensure that nothing of that sort eventuates this time around as we want to make the southern division proud by winning the league title and getting the chance to represent the premier division against Nadroga in the promotion relegation.

“There aren’t any injuries in the team and we should be giving in our best against Dreketi tomorrow.

Dreketi soccer president/coach Ami Chand said they have traveled to Suva with only one mission and that is to win the title and go home happy.

“We are representing the northern division and I am calling all the northern people living in the Nausori-Suva corridor to come out in numbers and support our campaign against Tailevu Naitasiri which will be a tough nut to crack.

“They are a very good side but we should not be underestimated also as our motive is to win and the players will throw out whatever they have in the game which we are treating as the game of the season” Chand added.

The all exciting affair kicks at 2pm tomorrow at Buckhurst Park in Suva.

FFA -This is the final of the senior division. Why Buckhurst Park?, What about the national stadium? or Ratu Cakobau park? Always the case, senior division is secondary on your plate .You only think of them when election is looming, trying to get there votes.
