US Ryder Cup player Chad Campbell, Canadian veteran Mike Weir and Japan's Ryuji Imada are among seven top-30 PGA names who will play at the 4.1 million-dollar Shriners Hospitals Open.
The event, which tees off Thursday at the 7,243-yard TPC Summerlin course, has some solid talent even though most elite players ended their season after last month's Tour Championship.
Much of the field this week will be playing to try and secure their tour status for next year, but such US standouts as Kevin Sutherland, Hunter Mahan, Ken Duke and Billy Mayfair will be on hand in quest of a 738,000-dollar top prize.
American George McNeill won the title last year as a tour rookie when the event was played upon two different courses.
This season, McNeill has secured his playing rights for next season with almost one million dollars in winnings, although his best showing was a runner-up effort at Palm Harbor, Florida.
