Defending champions Ba has sealed its spot in this afternoon's Inter District Championships final after it humiliated the Babasiga Lions 3-0 in front of a capacity crowd at Govind Park this morning.

Goals to Maciu Dunadamu, Tuimasi Manuca and Malakai Tiwa in the second spell were enough to seal the Men In Black's final spot as a vocal home crowd pushed them throughout the encounter.

Labasa put up a strong challenge in the first half with Samuela Kautoga, Apisalome Turuva and Henry Dyer rallying the defence and forwards Joseph Nimariau and Roy Krishna having some space to move the ball and making attempts at the Ba goal.

But it did not take the champions much time to identify the holes in the Lions' defence and 9 minutes from the restart former Labasa boy Maciu Dunadamu slammed a rebounded ball from Labasa keeper Shamal Kumar to the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

Labasa looked hungry for the equaliser and fought hard but poor passing and lack of communication proved to be their downfall as Tuimasi Manuca pounced on a loose ball and combined well with Pita Bolaitoga and Avinesh Waran Swamy to beat Kumar again to go up 2-0.

Malakai Tiwa then scored from a free kick to put them champions into the final 3-0.

Labasa coach Anand Sami said Ba was the better side and deserved to win.

"We played well in the first spell but seemed to fall apart in the second and against a team like Ba, you can't afford to do that," he said

"They were the better team and deserved to win," Sami said

Ba will meet the winner of the Lautoka-Nadi semi-final.
