Lions held to scoreless draw by Jetsetters
October 10, 2008

Labasa's IDC campaign almost suffered a loss this afternoon when a sublime Nadi outfit fought hard to hold the Lions to a nil-all draw.

The Lions could not maintain their winning momentum from last night where they thumped Suva 3-1 in a one sided affair.

Labasa currently has a win to its name and another against Nadi will better its chances for the semifinal on Sunday while Nadi which has a draw needs to win to remain in contention.

Roy Krishna had the best chance of the first spell but his attempt from outside the 18 yard box was acrobatically saved Nadi and Fiji goalie Benaminio Mateinaqara.

Nadi also had its chances to score in the see saw battle but poor finishing proved otherwise.

The teams:
Nadi- Benaminio Mateinaqara, Viliame Toma, Maika Kasami, Marika Namaqa, Inoke Boseilala, Iliki Ravosai. Ratu Josefata Dugucagi, George Lui, Godwin Beubeu, Stanley Waita, Thomas Robert.

Labasa- Shamal Kumar, Taniela Waqa, Samuela Kautoga, Alvin Avinesh, Henry Dyre, Apisalome Turuva, Menuesi Senibuli, Shivan Swamy, Angatesh Rao, Roy Krishna, Joseph Nimariau.

Too early to tell. Any team can win in a competition like this. When it rains, it spoils everyone's game. Nadi and Labasa, both stood up to the challenge on a soggy field where it is often hard to move the ball, let alone correctly get it to target. I am sure both teams will have better chances in up coming games.
Go Lions!! Go Jetsetters !! May the best team in this competition, win.

Fj420 and hopeless thakus shaab..shut up..Labasa is the first team to qualify. they have proven a point that they are the most consistent team as they have qualified in all 3 tournament. my advise to u two...spend same amount of energy on ur team it might help them out.
Go LIONS Go
