Southern dark horses ready for IDC action
October 08, 2008

Giant killers Nasinu is all set to topple big guns and win the 70th Courts/Homecentres IDC title in Ba this weekend.

The Emmanuel Manu coached side has had the best preparation for the tournament and is ready for action.

Nasinu played friendly matches against neighbors Suva, Rewa and Tailevu North to mould its combination ahead of the tournament.

According to coach Manu, his brigade is ready to topple any team in the tournament and is confident of their chances.

“This is a very well prepared side with some very skilful and determined set of players and I don’t see any reason as to why we should not do well in the tournament, he said.

“We played friendly matches to build our combinations and allow the new boys in the team to familiarize themselves with the rest of the players.

“We are in a tough pool with teams like Ba and Navua and are prepared to take on every team in the pool with full confidence” added Manu.

Solomon Islanders George Gulu, Robert Mafane and Aldrine Kilua and US based Jainitesh Narayan are the overseas players in the City Security sponsored side.

Nasinu takes on Tavua in its opening match at 6.15pm tomorrow.

The Nasinu Squad:

Tevita Roko, Nitan Kumar, Peter Pranesh, Jone Roko, Ilimo Waqa, Bimal Pal, Nathan Kumar, James Lal, George Gulu, Deepak Chand, Binesh Kumar, Watson Narayan, Kaushik Kumar, Robert Mafane, Jainitesh Narayan, Aldrine Kilua, Robert Nair, Harold Buksh, Tamanikau Dunadamu, Sumeet Kumar, Epeli Suibuka, Praneel Kumar.
