Unknown Naketini roped into Fiji 7s squad

Fiji 7s coach Waisale Serevi has drafted Nasinu player Joshua Naketini into his team that will play in the Fiji Day celebrations in Brisbane next weekend.

Naketini’s selection came at the expense of Nadroga’s Iliesa Ratuva who was dropped from the squad due to an injury.

The Fiji squad comprises of mostly young players as Fiji coaching director Ilivasi Tabua and sevens coach Waisale Serevi build up to the 2008- 2009 IRB series.

Former captain Etonia Naba who is the most experienced player in the squad is hotly tipped to marshal the South Seas Islanders in the tourney.

The side marches into camp tomorrow at the Nasova Police Academy and will undergo two day’s of training before wrapping up preparation on Wednesday and flying out on Thursday to the land down under.

The pools and fixtures of the tournament are yet to be released.

The Fiji team: Vereniki Goneva, Seremaia Burotu, Osea Kolinisau, Isei Lewaqai, Iferi Bibitaka, Etonia Naba, Lepani Nabuliwaqa Josua Naketeni, Sailosi Rabonaqica, William Rasileka, Peni Rokodiva, Emosi Vucago.
