Ba anticipates tough Rewa challenge
September 20, 2008

The Ba soccer team, front runners for the Super Six title, leaves no stone unturned when it plays Rewa at Govind Park this afternoon.

Ba needs to win the encounter at all cost to lead the points table which will boost their much anticipated encounter against Labasa next weekend.

The Vodafone ‘Men In Black’ were forced to a nill-all draw by Nadi earlier this week.

They are leveled with Labasa on points and a draw or a loss today will kill their chances of securing the title which has been evading them for sometime.

Ba Soccer Association president Rishi Kumar said they would field their best players this afternoon against Rewa.

“We had some key players missing against Nadi. Today we will field all the best players against Rewa,” said Kumar.

“Rewa is a good side and whenever they play Ba, they give their best. We can expect tough competition today.

“We will need to beat Rewa at all costs to keep our chances of winning the title alive. The match against Rewa and Labasa will be used as our build-up to the Oceania League and the Inter-District Championships.”

Inspirational captain Malakai Tiwa alongside Maciu Dunadamu and Manueli Kalou are expected to make the run on team alongside Nicholas Lawrence, Alvin Singh, Pita Bolaitoga, Jone Vesikula, Tuimasi Manuca, Shalen Lal, Ronald Lawrence and Avinesh Swamy.

Rewa, on the other hand, after its 2-4 loss to Lautoka last night is expected to enter the match as underdogs.

The Vodafone Ba- Rewa match kicks off at 4pm.
