Victory at last for the Suva soccer players as they smartly outclassed Nadi 4-2 in their final Super Six clash for this season at Vodafone Prince Charles Park.
The Capital City boys entered the match with a much positive approach and went attacking from the first whistle.
Vanuatu import Johnson Lovu opened the scoring in the match midway in the first spell to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Nadi marshaled by former national defender Marika Namaqa toiled hard for an equalizer but good defensive play by seasoned defender Akariva Dau, Inosi Cava and veteran goalkeeper William Lasaqa kept the jetsetters at bay with both teams going to the breather with no change in the score line.
The Suva outfit proved out to be stronger and fitter in comparison to Nadi and netted in three more goals to end its winless S6 on a high with a last match victory.
Rohit Chand, the brother of Navua and Fiji defender Rajnil Chand scored the second goal for the Power Electric sponsored side with New Zealand based Petero Dauniseka and debutant Nemani Vuli netting the third and fourth respectively
Nadi managed to pull two back in the dying moments of the match through midfielders Ronil Chetty and Vijendra Deepak. . Meanwhile, Tailevu Naitasiri looks to be on track in the Premier division to top the southern zone after its 3-1 victory over Levuka today.
Naitasiri leads the Southern Zone with seven points and needs a draw in its last zone match against Tailevu North to book a date with Western Zone champs Rakiraki in the Vitilevu playoffs, the winner of which plays Dreketi, the North champs to determine the winner of the Premier league which will get a chance to play in the promotion relegation series against the last placed district in the Super Premier division.
Nadroga or Tavua will feature in the promotion relegation this season as they are the only two teams in danger while Navua and Nasinu have managed to evade the Promotion Relegation through their better standing in the Bottom Four competition.
