Fiji, PNG score big wins in FORU U19 September 07, 2008
The Fiji Under-19 rugby team showed its dominance in the Federation of Oceania Rugby Unions (FORU) Under-19 tournament in Nadi when it ran in a total of 15 tries to demolish Tahiti 99-3 yesterday
Tahiti only managed a penalty to 10 Ufagalupe Kaupusi in the third minute of play.
Fiji winger Ilaitia Leka top scored in the drubbing with four touch downs, a brace each to Eroni Ravaga, outside centre Kini Rasolosolo and one each to loose man Varayame Momo, flyhalf Koroi Yavala, lock and skipper Epeli Qativi halfback Beniamino Raisele, and Henry Seniloli.
Fiji beat Samoa and Tahiti but Coach Iosefo Bele expects fireworks when they meet Tonga next week.
“We wanted to test out some moves we didn’t use in our first game against Samoa. It was about doing things right as we build-up against Tonga in our final match,” he added.
“I salute Tahiti who are trying to stamp themselves in the rugby arena.”
