Lautoka I and II came out all guns blazing and survived two torrid battles in today’s MH Netball tour quarter-finals at the Multi-Purpose courts in the Sugar City to upset the Nasinu I and II teams in cliff hanger matches.

Lautoka’s win books a battle of the cities showdown after the Suva I and II sides also pulled off comfortable wins over Nadroga and Nadi.

Lautoka with the services of national rep Aliti Seru and trialists Sulueti Taivalu and Mere Tuirara were a class above the much fancied Nasinu side who boasted the services of Seruwaia Batule, Leba Dolobula and Lanieta Tuisasa.

The host’s number two side edged Nasinu II 53-52 and the number one side again edged the southerners 40-39.

In other games Suva II defeated Nadroga 61-23 while Suva I defeated Nadi 78-21.

Suva I will take on Lautoka II while Lautoka I takes on Suva II in next weekend’s semi-finals.
