Caucau, Railomo to feature for Tailevu September 05, 2008
Tailevu rugby team coach Inoke Male has roped in Fiji rugby stars Rupeni Caucaunibuca and Jone Railomo to strengthen his Digicel Cup home semifinal bid.
The former Fiji captain named Railomo and Caucau in his run on team to play Nadi at the Vodafone Prince Charles Park tomorrow afternoon.
“I am going for a home semifinal and the only way to secure that is to beat Nadi tomorrow,” he added.
“We are already in the semifinals but to beat Nadi will strengthen our bid for a semifinal at home in Nausori.”
Tailevu, fourth on the standings after 10 rounds, will have to beat Nadi by a bonus point to make their dream come true.
They have 36 points from seven wins, a draw and two losses, Suva (3rd) 38 points after eight wins, a draw and two losses, Nadi (2nd) with 40 points from eight wins and two losses while Nadroga leads the table with 10 wins and a loss.
A win for Tailevu will level Nadi on 40 points but a bonus victory will allow an additional point to finish second to Nadroga and own a home semifinal.
Tailevu will have to score more than four tries or more than 20 points for the bonus point win.
“I have a strong line up and I am confident that we will win that home semifinal after beating Nadi,” Male added.
Nadroga school teacher Napolioni Locoloco will control the match tomorrow.
