Koroibulu to lead the Bulldogs home September 05, 2008
Fiji Rugby League rep Josua Koribulu has a mammoth task in New South Wales, Australia when he helps the Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs against the Shoalhaven Jets tomorrow.
Bulldogs coach David Hatch is looking to the Fijian rugby prowess within Koroibulu to help make their home Grand Final dream come true.
“The boys can equal this season's ledger against the Jets on Sunday to keep the dream alive,” he added.
Koroibulu, a member of the Vodafone Fiji Bati World Cup squad and the Traps Bar City Stormers Rugby League Club in Suva was contracted by the Bulldogs early this year.
His unorthodox style of play which won him the 2007 FNRL Rookie of the Year Award will help the Bulldogs stop the Jets in their campaign.
FNRL executive Rusiate Ratakele said Koroibulu was among the top prospects to make the RWC in Australia in November.
“He is among top players who were sent for contracts to Australia this year. Most of them are returning home for the national trials on September 25 & 27 in Suva. He is a very good player who could spark some magic when he gets space in their match on Sunday. We wish him well,” Ratakele added.
Other players who have returned home include Seruvi Ralulu, Bill Tukave and Sonny Blake from the Cowra Magpies and Tobia Nalesu from the Central Coast Club in NSW.
