Nadroga ready for court giants, Suva September 05, 2008
Regardless of the slim chances stacked against Nadroga in their billed match against Suva, the westerners are eager to create an upset in their quarterfinal clash in the MH Netball series in Lautoka today.
The coastal side had a slow start this season but they should be out in full force to claim a spot in the semifinal with most of the experienced player available providing lots of options for astute coach Judy Kumar.
As both teams are keen to end the other’s season, Kumar has promised a top class action against the capital side as they fight for nothing less than a win.
“We’ll be going in to win,” Kumar said.
“We’re not underestimating Suva Two but we’ll play to the best because we started the season with an aim to improve our standing. Now I have all my experienced players back in the side and this has given me a lot of options in selecting my line-up.”
Nadroga bowed out of the quarterfinal last season and finishing in the top four during the western series this season has inspired them ahead of the crucial showdown.
“We need to dominate the game by having a good communication in the court. The combination is there but we’ll need to control the game with our strong defense to stop Suva’s drive and precision.”
Nadroga will play Suva Two in the first quarterfinal at 11am while clash between Suva One and Nadi along with Lautoka Two and Nasinu Two will kick off at 12.10pm.
The highlight clash between Lautoka One and Nasinu One is scheduled for 1.20pm.
