Walker seals Netball Fiji deal with signing
September 03, 2008

New Netball Fiji coach Melissa Walker is expected seal her employment with Netball Fiji this afternoon when she signs her contract.

This has been confirmed by NF president Milika Munivai few minutes ago before joining her executives for the all important meeting.

The John Wesley Primary School teacher said a sponsorship deal had been sealed by her association to employ the former New Zealand provincial netball coach.

“We are meeting her this afternoon to sign her contract. We are happy that we have achieved another milestone,” Munivai added.

Fijilive gathered that Walker will earn close to $80,000 per anum for the next three years because of the current economic situation and would lead Fiji to the 2009 Mini Pacific Games and IFNA Under-21 Championship in the Cook Islands and the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India.

Walker who returns to New Zealand this week has been in Fiji for three weeks to touch base with her peers and employers.
